Multiplexes to air IPL frenzy live on Big Screens

Keeping pace with the frenzy generated by the Indian Premier League, multiplexes in the city are offering the excitement live on the big screen.

Fun Republic, Fame and DT Cinemas have earmarked one screen each for IPL matches starting March 12.

Ticket prices for these matches range from Rs 90 to 175.

Fun Republic is likely to keep the ticket price same as that of movie shows — last year, the ticket was priced at Rs 250, which included unlimited snacks and soft drinks.

Officials at the multiplex feel that increasing the match ticket rates can act as a deterrent and people may prefer to watch the game in the comfort of their homes.

DT, which has jumped on the bandwagon for the first time, has priced the ticket at Rs 175 — with snacks it will cost Rs 250.

Being a new entrant, DT is keen to give its audience the feel of a stadium, complete with cheerleaders. Inside the hall, cricket mania will be fanned by quizzes during the game.
